The numbers are staggering. One in two men and one in three women will be diagnosed with cancer at some point in their lifetime. This means that cancer will literally affect each and every of us — whether it is through our own personal diagnosis or through that of someone we love.
In 2016, GOLFTEC Franchise owner Brendan Locke's life was changed forever by cancer when his wife Melissa was suddenly diagnosed with Synovial Sarcoma.
In September of 2017, Melissa passed away and in her memory, Brendan continues to raise money and awareness for a variety of cancer assistance services through his involvement with the CancerHawk Foundation.
From financial resources and travel assistance to survivorship and support networks to cutting-edge research that might benefit a particular person's cancer, Cancerhawk connects cancer patients and caregivers to a wealth of resources and organizations that offer assistance to anyone touched by cancer.
With CancerHawk’s guidance, Brendan and Melissa were able to find various assistance programs including different options to help reduce some of the travel costs for treatment and molecular profiling. Today, Brendan is working closely with CancerHawk to help cancer patients nationwide with a travel assistance fund created in Melissa’s memory.
